 SUMMARY: Under administrative direction, manages and oversees the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for the co-curricular programs District wide. Coordinates use and maintenance of gyms and/or other sports facilities as appropriate.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Assists in the coordination of day-to-day sports activities and the maintenance of sports facilities.
  • Determines needs and generates purchase requisitions to acquire athletic and sports equipment.
  • Establishes, maintains and reconciles uniform and equipment inventories, and oversees the maintenance of all inventory records for the program.
  • Oversees uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practices and on game day.
  • Oversees and coordinates all equipment preparations and setup for games.
  • Ensures that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Oversees and coordinates the work of lower level athletic equipment staff and/or students engaged in the day-to-day performance of related activities.
  • Serves as Campus Security.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

 

Required Knowledge of:

  • Ordering supplies, equipment, and/or inventory control.
  • Athletic, mechanical, and electronic equipment, supplies, and/or uniform repair.
  • Principles and procedures of recordkeeping, reporting, and retention.
  • District, School Board and Department policies and procedures.
  • District accounting procedures involving procurement, travel, and/or employment.

 Required Skills in:

  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely.
  • Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
  • Assessing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
  • Working independently with little or no supervision
  • Providing quality customer service.
  • Ability to lead, train, and functionally supervise staff and/or student employees.
  • Organizing and coordination.
