SUMMARY: Under close supervision, ensures the health and safety of students, staff, and general public by maintaining the cleanliness and efficient operation of the Agricultural Center.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implements preventative maintenance program for mechanical, irrigation, electrical and related systems.
- Performs basic maintenance and repairs such as electrical, plumbing, and irrigation.
- Examines agricultural facilities on a regular basis to determine the type of repairs and maintenance required.
- Assists with monitoring and complying with all applicable codes and applications.
- Installs and repairs machinery and irrigation systems.
- Mows, trims, and irrigates grass areas and grounds.
- Maintains effective weed and brush control. Removes debris from agricultural facility and other areas as required.
- Cares for all grass, trees, plants, and flowers. Fertilizes, tills, reseeds, and replants as needed.
- Completes other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; AND some experience with grounds maintenance and agriculture; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Knowledge of:
- Basic landscape maintenance methods.
- Proper uses of landscaping equipment.
- Fertilizer and weed control applications and use.
- District, School Board, and Department policies and procedures.
Required Skills in:
- Operating basic landscaping equipment.
- Caring for various types of plants.
- Performing basic repairs to electrical, irrigation, and plumbing systems.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Majority of work to be performed outdoors in various weather conditions; requires constant physical efforts, and may be exposed to dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.
