SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, provides leadership and direction to the school staff for the continuous improvement of instruction and to maximize the learning of all students. Designs and implements school-wide and staff development activities to create an optimum teaching and learning environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serves as an ambassador for school and District at all times.
- Promotes positive school culture by actively engaging in day to day operations, assemblies, and events.
- Designs, implements and monitors all state and District required action plans to support continuous improvement.
- Maintains open lines of communication with staff, students, and parents.
- Recruits, retains and evaluates a high quality staff.
- Promotes and monitors the general health, safety, and welfare of all students and staff.
- Participates in local, State, and some out of state professional development opportunities.
- Promotes the District’s mission and site goals. Sets expectations for students and staff.
- Develops and maintains positive verbal and written communication with the community.
- Prepares and maintains the school budget and systems to support school programs. Oversees the purchasing of all material, equipment, and supplies.
- Implements and enforces Board policies.
- Works with facilities and food service departments to ensure an excellent environment for students and staff.
- Completes other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field; AND three (3) years of teaching experience, including three (3) years or administrative or Assistant Principal experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Arizona Teaching Certificate.
- Arizona Administrative Certification.
Required Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of effective project management, leadership, supervision, and training.
- Principles and procedures of recordkeeping, reporting, and retention.
- School safety rules and regulations, and precautions.
- Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP).
- State and Federal laws, regulations, and requirements pertaining to education and teaching curriculum.
- Telephone Etiquette.
- Practices methods involved in providing quality customer service
- District and School Board policies and procedures.
Required Skills in:
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely.
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
- Assessing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
- Developing, implementing and managing budgets.
- Auditing curriculum.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard campus environment.
- Ability to travel and represent the District.
